Michael Shields was sentanced to serve 10 years for a crime he did not commit. Shields was imprisoned in Bulgaria after being found guilty of attacking Varna-based barman Martin Georgiev.

He was later transferred back to the UK to serve out the rest of his sentence before being given a royal pardon earlier this month by justice secretary Jack Straw.

Michael Shields is releasing the full details of his time in prison on September 24 in his book, “Michael Shields – My Story”. (see below where to buy it). Shields also gave a 6 part interview to the Liverpool Echo which you can see in full below:
