Liverpool suffered a shock defeat against Sunderland and a serious dent in their title hopes.
Playing without Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres Liverpool suffered their fourth defeat of the league season, which leaves them in 8th place in the Premiership table.
Darren Bent’s goal will be one of more bizarre goals you’ll see all season – his goal was allowed to stand after deflecting in off a beach ball, which a Liverpool fan had thrown on to the pitch. (see the photo above which shows the red beach ball on the right hand side). The ball struck the beach ball and veered into the net, Glen Johnson and Pepe Reina could do little about it.
