   The parish was the birthplace of the Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Football Club which was established in 1878 and later become the world famous Manchester United. It began life as a football team formed by Frederick Attock, a Liverpudlian who was a superintendent engineer of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway(L&YR).

    Stop talking bollocks. The previous 4 European Cups were won with teams at their height of powers and this was the start of a long rebuilding process for Rafa so the fact that he won this trophey with many players most of whom would be sold is a testiment to his tactical genius.

    Also I think if we have three 30Mil strikers up front we would have put away the league weeks ago but we don’t have that kind of money.
