Liverpool (6) Vs Hull City (1) Video Highlights and Goals (26th September 2009)

Fernando Torres scored a hat-trick to help Liverpool thrash Hull 6 – 1.
Torres slotted home a beautiful opening goal after only 12 minutes, but it wasn’t long before Hull struck back and equalised with a goal from Geovanni 3 minutes later.
It took less than 15 minutes for Torres to use his quick footwork to restore Liverpool’s lead and the scores at half-time stood at 2-1 to Liverpool. Torres grabbed his third goal minutes into the second half as Yossi Benayoun fed him a well timed pass.
Steven Gerrard scored a signature wonder-goal (that may have been a cross!) to make the score 4-1 before Ryan Babel tapped in Dirk Kuyt’s cross and then unknowingly deflected in Albert Riera’s late shot.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez on Fernando Torres after the game:
“He is now showing his ability but I think he can do it better. He is keen to learn and he will improve but how much depends on him. We decided to spend £20m on him – that was a massive figure for us. We brought him here because of his quality but also his potential. We are pleased now but he can improve.”
