Robbie Fowler Press Conference in Australia
Former England interntional and Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler takes up a two year contract to play for Australian A-League team North Queensland Fury FC.
North Queensland Fury FC are playing their first season in the A-League, and Robbie Fowler was cautious about their initial chances saying:
“This is a brand new team and until all the players get together and we train day in, day out … we will play a few games before the season we will see how it goes from that aspect. In terms of any football club you want to continue to win games. If you are winning games that breeds confidence and confidence helps you to do well in everything”
Fowler will move his wife and kids to Townsville. Pre-season training starts on 1 April with the league programme getting under way in August.
Still seemingly unable to stay out of trouble, Fowler also starts his new life abroad with a 6 month driving ban after being caught using his mobile phone while driving in England.
